Film The Photographer: At first the processing required complex machinery and precise control and, consequently, was done exclusively by the manufacturer. To answer the demand for a film the photographer could process himself, Ansco brought out in 1942 its Ansco-Color film, which was followed by Kodak's Ektachrome film; in both of these dye-couplers were incorporated into the separate emulsions.
The first sound film (Phonofilm) was demonstrated (1923). Den Juan (a silent film with synchronised music score) was released (1926). The Jazz Singer, the first major sound film starring Aljolson, was released (1927).
The Lumiere brothers projected (to a paying audience) film of an oncoming train arriving at a station: some of the audience fled in terror (1895).The Praxinoscope (1877) was develimages on screen (France, 1879). Marey (French physiologist) deve oped various types of Camera for The stroboscope, zoetrope and thau-matrope were invented to show moving images (1826-34). Muybridge (English photographer) demonstrated movement of horses' legs by using 24 cameras (1877).
Speedlights flash, the picture is taken, the film automatically advances, the shutter is cocked, and all is in readiness for the next child in the line. Similar cameras are available which operate with 35mm film. The smaller film cuts costs a bit but naturally the contact prints are not so appealing as those from the larger film.
