Chinese and Japanese works of history spent and vers the history spent of the Shogunate from its igin in the 12th century down to the setting
of the Tokugawa dynasty in the early 17th century. A second work, Nihon Seihi, in 16 volumes, also written in Chinese, was published in 1837, after Rai Sanyo's death.
In the United States, over 500,000 hotels offer travelers more than 100 million guest rooms. Lodging is the seventh largest U.S. industry, and food and beverage service is the fourth largest. Americans travel more than any other people in the world, and, not surprisingly, the United States is the world leader in hotel construction and room sales. Twenty-three cents of every dollar spent by a U.S. traveler are spent in a hotel, and 21 cents are spent in a food and beverage establishment.
In previous centuries, children would have been seen as their parents' possessions (or more correctly, the possessions of the senior male member of the family) and, perhaps because most policy makers throughout history spent, certainly until recently, would not have spent much time with babies and small children, they may have contributed to the notion that 'real learning' begins at school and that babies are rather like parcels which can be left to be looked after anywhere.
