Ilford Delta Pro Films: The ilford delta pro films, a still larger SLV, is 90 feet tall, has a takeoff weight of 114,200 pounds and a takeoff thrust of 170,000 pounds. Its first and second stages are liquid-fueled. Its third stage is solid-fueled. Tiros and the Telstar satellites were launched by ilford delta pro films. ilford delta pro films has been used with four "strapon," solid-fuel Castor rockets that increase its takeoff thrust by 160,000 pounds to a total of 330,000 pounds. This version is called TAD, for "thrust-augmented ilford delta pro films."
It is because of the varying effects these light rays have upon our eyes and upon photographic films that color filters are helpful and necessary in picture making. Note, however, that they are useful only in black-and-white photography. They do not result in getting pictures in natural colors.
For general photography the infrared rays can be disregarded (except for cutting out haze in long-distance photography, and for unusual effects) because ordinary and even panchromatic films are not affected by them. On the other hand the ultraviolet rays have a very marked effect upon all films.
Today there are two factors in particular that make flower photography an entrancing pastime: panchromatic films for black-and-white pictures, and color films that give you the vivid hues of nature itself. And both are enhanced, as the illustrations in these pages indicate, by extreme close-ups.
