Money Photos: GRESHAM'S LAW, gresh'amz, in economics, is usually stated as "bad money photos drives out good." The law stems from the fact that money photos has a value both as money photos and as a commodity in the open market. The former value is set arbitrarily by law and is relatively fixed; the latter is determined by supply and demand and varies from time to time, "Good money photos" has a higher value as a commodity than as money photos and will disappear from circulation.
The model agency should have composite photos of the models showing them in a number of different poses. Is there a sameness to the images or are there different facial expressions, body movements, and hand positions? Were the pictures taken by more than one photographer? Sometimes a model seems to come alive with one photographer and looks deadpan with anyone else. One clue to this fact is found when the model has only worked with one photographer. Admittedly this may have been to save money photos or because the community .was too small to have more than one photographer taking such portfolio pictures. However, it may also be a warning sign. |
