Photo Exhibitions: He was a prolific writer, and a most active member of the Linked Ring; for several years he was on the selection committee of the photo exhibitionsgraphic Salon, and wa responsible for installing the exhibitions.
Alfred Stieglitz of New York was one of the mos; prominent and respected participants at this salon anc other European exhibitions. He was already the leadei of the pictorial movement in America, and was to gair international fame not only as a photo exhibitionsgrapher but as the founder of the photo exhibitions-Secession, the most dynamic society of art photo exhibitionsgraphers in the world, and as publisher and editor of the handsome quarterly Camera Work.
The proposal was accepted, and on 1 vember 5 "The Little Galleries of the photo exhibitions-Secessi opened to the public, with a show of photo exhibitionsgraphs by members. This inaugural show was followed by a sei of exhibitions presenting work by leading pictorial p] tographers of Europe and America.The photo exhibitions-Secession dominated the 1908 Pho graphic Salon of the Linked Ring in London. Three of i Selecting Committee - Steichen, Coburn, and Eugene were photo exhibitions-Secessionists. On opening day photo exhibitionsgraph were shocked that more than one half of the photo exhibitionsgrap the walls were by Americans.
