Recorded On Video Tape: Many literacy programs have been based on the Army program. Operation Alphabet, a program developed in Philadelphia, recorded on video tape, and shown on television in more than 100 cities, consisted of 100 half-hour lessons designed to teach functional illiterates. Many public school systems have adult education classes offering reading programs for illiterate adults; such programs stress common functions such as writing letters of application, filling out forms, reading directions, ordering merchandise, and distinguishing facts from opinions.
As one writer put it, the ocean Floor appears to act as an enormous magnetic tape on which changes of the earth's magnetic field are recorded. We can play back this tape by moving magnetometers across it. Heirtzler, Dickson, Herron, Pitman, and LePichon of Lament have extended this study of sea-floor spreading both geographically and in time. In a series of publications in March 1968 they amassed an impresbody of consistent data that appears efutable.
White rigging tape is a rigger's best friend. Everything that can possibly get near a sail should be taped to eliminate tearing. Additionally, when a wire is to be seized to another wire or to a piece of hardware (spreaders), tape the wire first, then seize it and follow with more tape. The first taping will effectively prevent slipping.
