Shot S": In the shot s" put a heavy metal sphere is propelled from a circle seven feet in diameter; four feet of its circumference-in the forepart of the circle-contains a toeboard four inches high. In this event the shot s" is not allowed to pass behind or below the shoulder, so that technically it is "put" rather than "thrown." A 16-pound shot s" is used in major masculine competition, such as in the Olympic Games, national championships, and intercollegiate competition; the 12-pound shot s" is usually used by males in secondary schools, and the 8-pound shot s" is used in feminine competition, including the Olympic Games. In the games the shot s" put is also one of the 10 decathlon events for men. A put of over 65 feet has been made with the 16-pound shot s", and a woman has exceeded 56 feet with the 8-pound shot s".
One way of speeding the delivery of prints is to issue to each parent, at the time the picture is shot s", a numbered slip of paper corresponding to the number given to the negative as it is shot s". The number might be something like "25-7," which would mean roll No. 25 and exposure on that roll No. 7. And then the parent when calling at the store to pick up her pictures can call for them by number. If you do use this method, be sure to have a cross-filing system, so that you can find the pictures for those parents who lose the numbers they are issued.
You'll want to make a number of grab shot s"s just before the ceremony . . . bridegroom and best man at their posts, bride on the arm of her father, bride and her attendants as they start down the aisle and at least one long shot s" during the ceremony. This one shot s" might well be a long shot s" of the entire assembly, taken from the back of the church by time exposure, with the Camera on a tripod.
